Tuesday: A day off in Farmington

Tuesday’s will apparently be my day off each week. This week, Ellie and I went into Farmington, the local town closest to us, but it’s technically in the next county over. We went to thrift shops, book stores, and a little place called The Homestead where we each had coffee and a scone. I was surprised how good the coffee was; and the scone was magnificent. Ellie seemed to really enjoy a shop called Liquid Sunshine, which sells bohemian clothing, sage, incense, and healing rocks. I really enjoyed the SugarWood Gallery, which sells local, handcrafted items. The entire shop smells like pine and cedar.

An important looking building in Farmington.

Ellie then drove me back to the farmhouse, and she went on her way to see the local hiking trail. I with my headache, went up to my room and worked on my Computer Information Science homework and setting up this blog until dinner. Thankfully, by the end of the evening, my headache was gone!

Right before bed, when everyone was winding down, Ellie,  A and J (A and J are the wwoofing sisters, who are from Britain) and I were talking in Ellie and J’s room when we started to discuss fireflies… apparently there are fireflies.  Later that night Dil, J and Ellie suddenly came over to our room and said that the fireflies were out and to come see. A and I got our shoes on and rushed out to see then; and although we couldn’t find the other girls, we were able to see the fireflies in all their glory. They were mostly out in the field across the street from the house. We stood on the curb for several minutes, looking at them from a distance and then headed inside. I’d love to see them up close one day.

While laying in bed, I was so grateful that I would likely be able to do a day’s work on Wednesday without a headache!
