Last weekend, Katharine and I finally got around to kayaking. We had been discussing going kayaking for at least a year now, but could never seem to coordinate our schedules. So I messaged her asking if she wanted to go some times soon, and last Friday was the day!
We rented a two person kayak in Berkeley and rowed it around a protected cove near the Berkeley harbor for a few hours. We talked and caught up after months of being on other sides of the country. It was a fun and relaxing way to catch up with a friend, and it was great exercise.
Afterward, Katharine, Joshua an I went to a Peruvian restaurant named “El Mono” in El Cerrito. The food was marvelous, especially the plantains.
Strange thing we saw on our way home from the restaurant: a Christmas tree set on the curb. Mine you, IT IS AUGUST! How someone ended up with a Christmas tree this late in the year is almost beyond me.
